The Watergate Bar is an exceptional concept, harnessing the values and concepts of the established Bar Kitchen brand, formerly of Scottish & Newcastle Retail, with the medieval cavern feel of the listed building it occupies.

Now owned by Spirit Amber Retail, the Bar opened in November 2002 and was nominated for one of the Publican Design awards that year. Its incredible surroundings and the design features which have been carefully crafted within, by the talented design team at Creative Union, make it a comfortable and relaxing place to be for any type of person.

The history and magnitude of the place is astounding and it is disconcerting but interesting to note that there are crypts and secret passage ways from the back area which lead through and under the city.

The designers have also taken into account the demand for comfortable outdoor areas, and layout and design at the rear garden is excellent and feels extremely private, especially at night. The project is and has been an amazing success and is definately one to see for yourself.
